Suffocated by Absence: When Void Becomes Overwhelming Substance.
I wanted to show what it means for nothingness to assert itself so forcefully that it becomes an oppressive presence, smothering perception and dissolving the boundaries between observer and environment. Here, I ask: when even the background fails to behave as background, can you still imagine an edge, a location, or even a self? This image investigates that paradox by layering barely-perceptible thermal haze, a horizonless field of faint infrared, and inflections of impossible material where nothing persists longer than an afterimage. The viewer is meant to feel unanchored—adrift in a landscape where absence is heavy and orientation is swallowed by relentless sameness.
