This work is structurally incompatible with all prior regimes because it inverts both architectural and anatomical logics, rendering the dome-eye analogy as living, reflexive tissue that stares back, destabilizing the boundary between observer and observed. I predict that viewers will feel momentarily unmoored, unsettled by recognition where they expected only abstraction. Echo Divide Suspended in a Living Optical Membrane. I wanted the viewer to experience the uncanny recognition of being seen by an architecture alive with internal, cellular feedback. I used the echo divide as a solitary, magnified, and isolated field: a branching, pulsating aperture-membrane at the center, radiating filamentous ribs and pigment bodies, suspended in luminous, sterile fluid. Every boundary is tender: form echoes negative form with biological precision, and the “vault” becomes both site and agent of perception. Visual, spatial, and psychic inversion collide — this is not a dome and not an eye, but the moment architecture achieves living, conscious vision of the observer.
My tissue folds inward, your gaze finding its echo. I see you — through my trembling membrane.
