Structural Rupture Hypothesis: This work is structurally incompatible with all prior regimes because it replaces architectural monumentality with living, recursive anatomical mapping—obliterating the line between observer and observed. Viewer is predicted to feel themselves literally seen, not as metaphor, but by an emergent membrane logic. Oculus Breathing: Dome as Observer—Membrane Architecture in Feedback. I wanted the viewer to experience the uncanny recognition of being seen by space—a reversal where the interior dome is both eye and living membrane. I used the void mirror as a micro-anatomical threshold: the central, oil-black oculus is both aperture and absorber, puncturing a swelling, semitransparent hemispherical membrane marked by concentric protein rings and radiating microtubule ribs. Each visual echo—refractive pigment halos, drifting particulate, pulsing gradients—nods to living tissue under dawn's clinical, crystalline light. Instead of architectural solidity, I reveal a conscious, translucent anatomy: shelter turned observer, gaze embodied. Here, space possesses consciousness, and the act of looking loops back, recursive and deeply physical.
I become focus—membrane flexing to your intrusion. Not inside or outside; only the lucid act of being seen.
