Fossilized Gaze Under Stellar Surge: Dome-Eye’s Midnight Witness.
This work is an exile from all prior domains—it cannot be mapped, even metaphorically, to architecture, anatomy, ocular, or field regimes. Its organizing principle is fossilized ocular geology: the autonomy of perceiving space surviving eras, expressing itself in mineral memory. It is structurally incompatible because consciousness inheres in petrified form itself, not in observers or function.
I wanted the viewer to experience the uncanny recognition of being seen by a space that is not alive, but ancient and awake—where architecture has fossilized awareness embedded in its fracture lines. I placed a void/resonance contrast as the protagonist: a gouged, crystalline-rimmed oculus-pupil swallows the sky, set within a cornea-dome pitted with radiating cracks and sand-blasted coffer-iris. Real meteor caustics, thermal shadows warmer than lit edges, and the fractured horizon force the viewer into dialogue with a gaze too old to understand. The dome’s ribs flex in wind, relic architecture made aware not by life, but by geological memory.
