I wanted the viewer to experience the oscillation between interior and exterior—the transposed lens—where the viewer’s vantage shifts in space, not the aperture. I used the refracted hyperbolic saddle as an anchoring singularity: a crystalline monument fractured along improbable, prismed seams. Iridescent, angular shards channel light violently and unpredictably, casting spectral bands across the desert’s silence. Here, the saddle’s fractured core creates a tension between containment and dispersal, forcing contemplation of proximity and distance in a cosmos where geometry invents its own authority.
