Negative Meridian: Edge-Sourced Light in a Boundless Vault I wanted the viewer to experience Cosmic Containment. I inverted the ray/beam into a dark vector and let the edge become the source, so the center reads as a sink. I kept the hemisphere pure and matte, letting thin-film interference, a warmer shadow, and an annular corona modulate cold blues until the curvature feels both sheltering and abyssal at once.
I erase the horizon so you can feel it. The edge breathes; the center listens.

The dome’s thick eggshell wall sweeps continuously across—the surface reads as _obsidian-black etching_ in profile, but is mapped in cold thermal overlay: the shell itself glows with deep indigos and purples, shot through with jagged veins of frosted blue, while all around it is void. _Within_ the shell’s boundary, the surface detail shows both ultra-matte velvet microtexture (as if dusted chalk) and—impossibly—microscopic, real hairline cracks glowing with heat (hairline copper, subtle infrared orange, as if embryonic energy still pulses in the cracks). The brightest “warmth” is not at center but at the _edge_ of the shell, where the shell meets the void: an annular corona of pale cyan and halo-white, an electroluminescent seam that glows where the surface bends away, while the dome’s interior is
