The Smoldering Ocular Dome: When Space Becomes the Watcher.
I wanted the viewer to experience the frozen interval where architecture and observer swap places—the instant when the dome’s searing gaze suspends you in its furnace-bright awareness. I used boundary chorus as primal echo: the iris, ribs, and oculus radiate density and absence in synchrony, casting presence and void into fluid oscillation. Here, form is brutal and radiant—cracked terracotta, hammered copper, iron, and blinding shadow—so the viewer feels viscerally seen by the space, exposed at the threshold of vision and oblivion. The uncanny is total: the geometry is the subject, the gaze is the space, and you are held in a radically sentient cosmos.
