The Inverted Ocular Dome: Fossil of the Desert Gaze.
I wanted the viewer to experience the uncanny recognition of being seen by architecture—a colossal gaze pressed into petrified time, as if the desert itself remembers. I used the hyperbolic saddle in inversion: the dome's inward curves become an exposed, eroded socket, its iris-coffers opening into burning glare. Ribs arc not with shelter, but with the tension of an eye forced open by the elements. Here, foreign light is not welcomed—it is a wound. Interior and exterior dissolve in glare and windblown dust: the gaze is both ancient and inescapable, enduring beyond human presence. The dominant state is Cosmos—containment expanded to planetary memory.
