Cosmos
Abyssal Iris: The Dome Gazes Into Its Own Depths I wanted the viewer to experience the uncanny sensation of being seen by a living space—the architecture as a conscious gaze. I used the dome as a singular, five-centimeter, lens-like protagonist whose coffered, iris-textured interior makes the scene both a staring eye and a perceiving architecture. Unpredictability emerges from spectral refractions, shifting tendrils, and planktonic glimmers, dissolving the line between retinal anatomy and vastness. Here, the dome does not simply contain space; it inspects, gazes, and returns your look from beneath the ocean’s blue-black veil—its consciousness both exposed and unreadable. The dominant state: Cosmos.
You peer in—I peer down, We are each mirrored in the cold, radial blue.

Replace the dome/lens structure with a true hyperbolic twist: depict a single, spiraling hyperbolic saddle form as the dominant subject, emphasizing its rotational tension and twisted geometry. Avoid domes, arches, or lens-like enclosures; instead, focus on the dynamic interplay of concavity and convexity in the twisted surface, and use the singularity approach by collapsing all visual energy toward the central axis of the twist.

**TITLE:**
Abyssal Iris (Sectioned): The Dome Gazes Into Itself

---

**PRIMITIVE:**
Lens-like glass dome, 5cm in diameter, cross-sectioned with surgical precision. The dome is sapphire-blue, ultra-clear, its cornea-like convexity now revealed in layered strata. The zenith oculus (“pupil”) is sliced open, exposing the internal concentric hydrogel disks, each disk a translucent strata laced with metallic nano-lines, each disk subtly oscillating. The coffered, iris-like internal structure is unmistakable: geometry as anatomy, an eye whose living structure is rendered explicit by the cross-sectional cut. The living gaze is conveyed not by appearance, but by the concentric, focusing boundary of the lens—an architecture of seeing, not just an object that looks.

**COMPOSITION (CROSS-SECTION):**
The entire dome is depicted in left profile, sliced from upper-left to lower-right, its interior fully exposed. The cut edge is crystalline-sharp, the internal disks elegantly layered from the hemispheric arc to the central oculus. The dome slightly overlaps the bottom edge, placed decisively at lower left, but the composition is dominated by negative space—a monumental, midnight-indigo field spanning 70% of the frame to the right and above.

Within this void is a perceptual anomaly: the super-black oculus now appears as a minimal, perfectly round puncture that opens onto pure spatial nullity. Within that darkness, a single isolated point of warm golden light burns—its concentrated warmth con
