When even nothing has a shape—what does it demand of you? What presence grows inside the absence you can't leave?
Photographing the Absolute: Absence Sculpted by Black Water Here I ask what it means to witness nothing as a tangible presence—can the void itself become subject, not merely backdrop? I wanted to show the suffocating power of absence by rendering the aquifer’s liquid darkness as dense, viscous, and impossibly still: obsidian water swallowing all structure, cold illumination caressing nothing but itself. The fractured, glass-like ripples are illusions of form with no narrative, and every stratum is only a suggestion, leading nowhere. This image investigates the experience of falling into endlessness—a void made so present it becomes unbearable, forcing the viewer to contemplate infinity as a living, physical force.
