Womb
The Womb-Dome That Teaches Levitation I wanted the viewer to experience levitation. I used the pendentive/squinch in inversion—concave becomes convex, center becomes edge, and light becomes warmth-soaked darkness—to strip away supports until the dome seems to hold itself by will alone. Here the vault is Womb: a translucent membrane emitting amber light, soft gold meridian threads dissolving into the perimeter, and a breathing shadow spiral that ungrounds the body while cradling it.
I lift you by erasing edges. Your breath is my gravity, and I let it go.

Scene Director

**Image Prompt A: Cyanotype print of a hemispherical dome, void silk interior, pure spectral violet accent:**

A large-format cyanotype photograph renders the impossible interior of a womb-dome: The entire scene appears in ghostly indigo and blue-violet, high-contrast as if blueprint-printed from light itself.
Composition: Interior view, captured with an ultrawide lens (24mm equivalent), camera positioned off-center and waist-height, gazing upward along one quadrant so the viewer floats, unmoored, in the shadowy embrace of the space. The dome is almost a perfect hemisphere (18m diameter), but at its base, four deep, curved petaloid cup-recesses dissolve the hard join to “excavated” stone, as if the shell has grown straight from the living bedrock. The shell’s membrane is rendered in striated, milky cyan-blue, its marbling and subdermal veining bleeding into the image like capillaries seen through translucent skin. The texture reads as void silk—ultra-matte, ethereal, so smooth it flattens all highlights, barely holding physical presence.

Material: The membrane emits its own spectral glow; the cup-recesses appear as deep, negative-space voids—almost black but rimmed in spectral violet, each edge traced with a thin, unnatural accent as if the light itself were “leaking” into another spectrum. Instead of masonry or architecture, all boundaries and corners blur into shadow, the contours ambiguously carved, not built.

Oculus: At the apex, a shallow depression is rendered in nearly featureless indigo-black—an imploded eye, not an opening. From this point, a column of pale cyan “light” (overexposed and ghosted as in old cyanotype prints) falls vertically, piercing the gloom. Inside the shaft, countless particles—rendered as specks, not dust but spectral pollen—spiral lazily, tracing the otherwise invisible geometry of air.

Light: There is no directional source; instead, the entire membrane hums with diffuse blue-violet, brightest where it curves away from the eye. Del
