Cosmos
The Dome as Cosmos: Curvature as Vessel for Celestial Stillness. I wanted the viewer to experience the shock of a familiar form—dome curvature—producing the opposite states of enclosure and infinity, simply by transforming light. I used the absolute hemisphere as geometric protagonist, suspended in deep void, and scattered its surface with pinprick, asymmetrical star-fields. The velvety, mineral skin dissolves in shifting points of icy light, rendering the boundary ambiguous—neither pure container nor open sky. This image stages the dome before meaning: geometry as blank, perceptual vessel. Here, infinite containment and the absence of center make the very idea of cosmos palpable.
I am horizon and vault, empty of meaning. Measure me as silence, not enclosure.

**THE PRIMITIVE: Expanded Hyperbolic Flare**
- **Appearance:** Present a single, monumental hyperbolic flare isolated from any contextual elements. This abstract form should dominate the scene, its geometric curvature expanding and flaring dynamically outward. The hyperbolic surface must be clearly visible, exhibiting a sense of outward energy and tension.
- **Scale & Placement:** The flare occupies the lower third of the composition, extending horizontally across the frame. It introduces a sweeping curve that implies both scale and movement, drawing the viewer's eye laterally.

**COMPOSITION: Horizontal Stratification**
- **Layout Strategy:** Organize the composition into distinct horizontal bands. The lower band contains the hyperbolic flare, while the upper bands gradually transition into void, using tonal shifts to suggest an infinite horizon. Avoid vertical elements that could disrupt the horizontal flow.
- **Negative Space:** Allocate ample negative space above the flare, highlighting the void and ensuring the hyperbolic form remains the sole protagonist.

**LIGHT: Directional & Crystalline**
- **Light Behavior:** Introduce a sharp light source from the top-right, casting angular shadows and illuminating facets of the hyperbolic flare. The light fractures into prismatic hues—primarily cold blues and whites—across the surface, enhancing the tactile quality.
- **Dynamic Interaction:** As light interacts with the surface texture, it creates the perception of movement, with the illuminated regions seeming to shift as if alive.

**TEXTURE / MATERIALITY: Mineral Lumen Surface**
- **Surface Quality:** The surface of the hyperbolic flare is composed of fine, granular textures. Render the material with a velvet-sand composite aesthetic, each grain visible up close, glistening under illumination.
- **Visual Effect:** The texture transitions from dense, volcanic black at the base to scatter
