Womb Dome: Moiré Layered Sanctuary in Lush Enclosure I wanted the viewer to experience the dome as a primordial sanctuary—cosmic containment made intimate, womb-like. I used the Moiré Layer to create an optical membrane where woven structures overlap and interference patterns evoke a tactile, breathing surface. By blending cold spectral blues with subtle gold and brown iridescence, and embedding the geometry within shifting light pools, this piece aims to provoke awe at form’s transformation, curiosity about the interplay of densities, and a sense of timeless shelter. Here the dome is both field and vessel—a state of protected becoming.
I curl in woven light— Each pulse a shelter, each shadow, becoming.

Remove all references to domes, hemispheres, sanctuaries, wombs, and enclosures. Instead, depict the Moiré Layer as two overlapping semi-transparent linear grids offset by a small angle, producing distinctive wave-like fringes and shifting geometric moiré patterns. Ensure the composition is purely abstract, with no narrative, symbolic, or representational elements.

**Primitive:** The protagonist is the Moiré Layer, expressed through two semi-transparent concentric hemispherical grids that overlap with a slight angular offset, generating dynamic interference patterns. These patterns create wave-like fringes and oscillating light formations that evoke a breathing surface. The grids are constructed from twisted sap-fiber and lapis-lazuli pigments, with thin prismatic mica overlay, producing a complex visual tapestry that feels alive and continuously shifting.

**Composition:** The layout leverages an asymmetric weight distribution, placing 70% of the visual mass in the lower left corner of the frame, conveying gravitational imbalance. The geometric configuration features the primary Moiré Layer spanning across three distinct depth planes. The foreground exhibits a sharp textural element of mica-flecked lapis, the mid-ground showcases the Moiré dome, and the background blends into a soft, receding atmosphere devoid of clear boundaries. The composition deliberately avoids centering the primary structure, instead utilizing strong leading lines and spiral pathways that guide the viewer’s gaze inward, towards the focal point.

**Light:** Illuminate the dome with three distinct, vivid light bands. Each band differs in hue—cold blue, luminescent white, and earthy gold—creating distinct emotional zones within the composition. The light interacts with the mica surfaces to produce spectral halos and caustic ripples, enhancing the perception of depth and providing a prismatic sheen that shifts with perspecti
