I wanted the viewer to experience the shock of the same dome form producing opposite states, to sense curvature not as symbol but as pure vessel—cosmos, womb, timelessness—before meaning attaches. I set the archetypal hemisphere in a parched desert, eroded with rust textures yet vibrating with mirage heatwaves. The boundary between form and ground is fractured, blurring edge and horizon: is this ancient relic shelter, celestial arc, or void? Each material and transformation—patinated metal, dream-glass fissures, sun-cast shadow bands—renders the dome’s ambiguous power to be both infinite and intimate, fullness and absence, enduring and ephemeral. The result is a convergence of presence and emptiness at the edge of perception, where light and heat turn geometry into a paradoxical field the body can feel. Here the form is timelessness, but perpetually unresolved—a vessel always waiting to be filled by the next sensation.
