Dome as Dune: Infinite Curvature Absorbing Cosmic Heat.
I wanted the viewer to experience the shock of opposite states, to sense the dome as both a radiant vessel and a void awaiting perception. I used the archetypal dome by abstracting its curvature into a monumental dune of mutable, backward-flowing sand, ringed by volcanic glass and radiated by supernova blast lines. The interplay of stark shadow and searing light stretches the boundary between interior and exterior as the sand/sky threshold flickers with ripples of time—inviting the viewer into an arena where cosmos and womb, energy and emptiness, collide and swap roles. Stark, raw, and immense: the dome’s form is held in a moment of volatile equilibrium, never allowing the eye or body to rest.
Curvature radiates, absorbs, radiates again. My boundary is heat and horizon—presence flickers, definition resumes.
