I wanted the viewer to experience the inversion of the oculus from a void to a blinding auroral source, the dome’s upward gaze flooding its own fragmented lattice in radiance. I used the grid/cell matrix as impossible entanglement—root tissue tessellated yet warping through perspective and temporal drift—because only a network that strains both into and beyond order can hold the simultaneous shelter and exposure of this scene. Success is defined by a tangled grid structure that feels both enclosing and cracked open by the piercing white-gold aperture at its apex, the grid dissolving into brilliance and shadow that cannot be disentangled. The viewer must feel cocooned but irresistibly drawn upward—the tension between abided patience and sky-drunk compulsion.
