I wanted the viewer to experience the uncanny sensation of being scrutinized by an unmappable, distributed consciousness: a gaze not centered but smeared irreducibly through a stochastic lattice. I used the Echo Divide primitive via quantum tessellation, arranging crystalline membranes so each boundary is both present and absent—flickering in and out according to a procedural roll at every juncture. Light stratifies and refracts not by convention, but as a byproduct of pattern collapse, creating a field where certainty never stabilizes and presence only exists at the threshold. The predictive blindspot: I could not foresee which specific regions would thicken into fleeting focus and which would dissolve—every run remaps the gaze, making the field unknowable even to its maker.
