White-Gold Oculus: Blinding Source within Mineral Patience.
I wanted the viewer to experience the vertical rapture of an oculus gaze—protected beneath immense, timeless stone, suspended between heat and hidden cold. I used the Luminal Plane as an impossible, vertical stratification where white-gold sunlight becomes a palpable, semi-transparent surface—both source and aperture, layered above the threshold between revelation and void. Subtle frost veining crystallizes across rough ochre curves without dulling the architectural gravity.
Success: An immaculate disk—blazing white-gold—anchors the zenith, sending vertical beams that dissolve surface into luminance, yet the dome’s mineral structure remains legible and palpably ancient. Failure: Absence of vertical stratification, or overpowered geometry—no sense of upward enclosure or frost’s impossible presence.
