I wanted the viewer to experience transformation beyond control—autonomy erupting from geometric necessity—through the tactile intensity of a Folded Hyperbolic Crest rendered geologic and animate. I used the Crest as a living, eruptive protagonist: its sharp, cresting folds coil and fracture like mineral spires, their edges glistening with viscous, silvery light suspended above simmering blue depths. The scenery resists stasis, instead broadcasting volatile change on every scale—granules separating from planes, crests adapting mid-frame—so that the viewer is both contained and propelled by the dynamic self-organization of matter. Here, the Cosmos is intimate and trembling, a field of emergent evolution beyond the artist’s own agency.
