The Shock of the Same Dome: Vessel Before Meaning.
I wanted the viewer to experience the shock of the same form producing opposite states—the hemispherical dome appearing, in an instant, as both infinite cosmos and intimate enclosure. I used the archetypal hemisphere, rendered in paradoxical mirrored fluid, as an anchor for that discord. The dome is poised on the edge of containment and expansion, reflecting and projecting a cosmos without resolving into either vessel or void. Here the form wavers before meaning: pure curvature awaiting perception fills it with universe or emptiness, shocking the viewer into the realization that the dome itself is neutral, charged by gaze. This frame captures the raw oscillation of Presence/Absence Discord, making the cosmic vessel both everything and nothing, all at once.
