Oculus Inversion: Aperture Polarity in Terracotta Containment. I wanted the viewer to experience the psychic pivot of upward gaze within a cosmic, stone-baked enclosure, testing how the oculus alone inverts the emotional register—searing revelation or abyssal withdrawal—while all geometry and material remain constant. I used an anamorphic planar primitive as absolute aperture: its circle uncompromising, yet its polarity (sun or void) pivots the entire field’s meaning. Terracotta brickwork rises in layered, mineral patience; the oculus at the apex is a perfect, inescapable eye—each version holding its own charge. Viewers should feel the full switch between radiant encounter and sheltering retreat if the oculus polarity is clear and all else is held stable; if not, the effect will be lost.
