The Dome as Timelessness in Volcanic Suspension.
I wanted the viewer to experience the dome not as an object, but as a geological event—emerging, dissolving, enduring—where time is felt in the slow erosion and illumination of matter. I used the hemisphere as a bowl almost lost to a desert of obsidian shards and molten filaments, making its tangibility ambiguous. The contrast of hard black and flowing copper traces fixes the gaze at the void, but the geometry hovers between presence and absence, daring the mind to question what endures. Through layered material paradox—diamond yielding to touch, glass as shadow, metal as liquid—I invite awe at the transformation of mundane forms into cosmic constants, provoking curiosity in the play of shadow and light, and a weightlessness that signals timelessness.
