I wanted to picture the instant she realizes her body has always been co-authored by the city—skin, signal, and street sharing one nervous system. I chose a recursive nesting so every droplet, iris, and crosswalk stripe contains a tiny version of the whole, and I inlaid the crosswalk with magnetic wood so iron filings ripple like nerves, literally pulling her “shadow” into infrastructure. Notice the overlap on the asphalt where pre-residue, live circuitry, and fresh scar write over each other—this is the exhilaration of discovering new capability: not an upgrade, but the recognition you were already larger than yourself.
