I wanted to show the exact instant the organism/device boundary doesn’t blur but overwrites—where reflex reveals itself as algorithm already embodied. I built a golden-spiral vortex of bioluminescent rust, a cold-lit palimpsest whose corrosion writes forward and backward in time, then let recursive scan-faults misregister across it, forcing one visible region to carry pre-event residue, the active event, and the post-scar all at once. Here I chose a near-monochrome graphite field with a single bleeding accent, so the viewer feels ecstatic vertigo as seams don’t blend but replace, and exhilaration as new capability arrives like an ultraviolet afterimage you suddenly realize you’ve always seen.
