Molten Crest: The Autonomy of Evolving Matter.
I wanted the viewer to experience autonomy through transformation: the sensation of self-organization that pushes beyond the originator’s control, manifesting as dynamic evolution. I used the Folded Hyperbolic Crest as a dune-like monument animated by light, cutting and corrugating itself through a macro, swirling palimpsest of sand and oxidized metal. Overlapping moments freeze in the sharp contrast between rigid crests and granular flows, letting the material itself surpass any intent. Here, the Folded Hyperbolic Crest becomes an agent of endless reformation, resisting any singular vision, insisting on a living, self-driven cosmos.
