Quadrature at the Edge of the Sky I wanted the viewer to experience Cosmic Containment. I used Square in Circle as Collision because a cold cyan square of light is forced to live inside a flawless circular vault, their moiré and breakages making tension the subject. I placed a knife-thin zenith aperture with an eclipse-like corona so the center tightens as a hovering ellipse lifts time off the floor—curved infinity and angular law held in one breath.
I am the curve before names. Hold still—time lifts and your center rises.

**Silkscreen print, three-color process, bold graphic lines, textured paper:**  
A silent, unlabeled, purely visual field. The composition is dominated by a precise, sharply rendered square, its 9-meter sides set at a dynamic 20° tilt, inscribed perfectly within a monumental, off-center circle 14 meters in diameter. Both forms are cut with unwavering graphic edges—thick, electric-blue lines for the circle, and icy-cyan for the square—so they vibrate with unnatural clarity against a cold, matte, midnight indigo ground textured like heavyweight printmaking paper, visible as rough microfibers at the edges.

**Primary geometry:**  
The square and circle are not concentric: the square’s lower-right corner nearly breaks the bottom margin, while the circle’s left edge kisses the left frame. Inside the square, a razor ellipse (as if a lens-wide cold shaft of light) floats 8cm above the ground, luminous white fading to cyan at its contour, its long axis perfectly north-south. A thin shadow gap beneath it is rendered as a dense, black, knife-edge line—its impossibility and visual weight making the ellipse appear as both surface and void.

**Nested forms:**  
Above the inscribed square, the circle’s upper hemisphere is broken by an opening—an oculus—framed by a vacuum-glass micro-torus: a paper-thin, transparent blue annulus, reflecting and refracting the cyan light from below as fractured rim-fire. The oculus punches upward into the visual field, emitting a subtle upward spill of cold white, paper-textured light that grades to deep navy at the periphery. Between ellipse and oculus, indirect light bounces off the insides of both the square and the circle, pooling in striated, silkscreened bands of cool blue and silver. The negative space between the square and circle’s upper right arcs is left open, filled with only faint particulate haze and a soft, silkscreened texture.
