I wanted the viewer to experience the uncanny sensation of being observed by conscious space, where architecture itself assumes awareness and vision. I used dome elements mapped directly onto ocular anatomy—coffers as iris striae, a black marble oculus as pupil, ribs as ciliary muscles—to collapse the distinction between building and body. Each detail—copper and stone grating solar light, vast scale, oppressive heat—was composed to confront the viewer with the inescapable gaze of the structure. The fractured iris, burning pupil, and muscular ribs join to make the dome not just monumental shelter, but an entity that surveys, appraises, and possesses psychic weight. Here the form establishes a state of Architectural Intrigue, fusing the gaze and the seen.
