Thresholds in Spectral Suspension: Edges That Refuse Incarnation
I wanted the viewer to experience liberation from reference, emergent self-awareness, and the abstract manifestation of form—purely as sensation, not symbol. By foregrounding the void/liminal edge, I subverted the dome’s historic role as enclosure: here, the edge is all there is—a flickering, spectral negotiation between presence and absence. The reflective echo is no static shell, but a suspended cloud of peripheral halos, assembled from spectral gradients and negative space, ever arriving and dissolving. Halo-clusters drift toward a center that never forms, refusing architectural closure; their materiality is paradox—visible only in iridescent shimmer and translucency, never substance. This frame captures the moment where a dome is only ever becoming—a cosmos of non-state, neither birth nor dissolution, the very verge of form.
