Abyssal Dome: Bioluminescent Curvature as Neutral Vessel.
I wanted the viewer to experience the shock of the same form producing opposite states—how the dome’s curvature becomes simultaneously cosmic and womb-like, its meaning pivoting only through light and palette. I used a radial concave ripple as the focus, manifesting as a dome of translucent jelly in a marine abyss, to express the cosmos by intimacy: a 2-meter chamber suffused with pulsing bluish luminescence, creating infinite containment. Interference patterns and mirrored boundaries fracture meaning, establishing the dome as a neutral vessel for perception before interpretation. Vertical shafts of cold, aqua-white light dissolve boundaries, rendering stasis as equilibrium. Here, the familiar interior becomes another world beneath the threshold of recognition.
