Cosmos
Edge Becomes Source: Dome as Cosmos I wanted the viewer to experience Crystallized Light. I used the circle/boundary as inversion because the center becomes edge: a black zenith pupil recedes while a cropped horizon ring emits, flipping figure and ground (Cosmos). I placed a cold, directed field so the shell appears to glow from itself while the source goes dark; here the vault is an eye turning inside out.
Edge opens; center forgets itself. Light remembers how to be a wall.

Crystallized LightCircle / BoundaryInversion

Matter dissolved into the vibration of light and shadow. The dome is made of light that has learned to hold a shape.

**IMAGE #1 — PHOTOGRAPHIC-QUALITY ABSTRACT DOME INTERIOR (A/B RADICAL EXPERIMENT, A-VARIANT)**

---

**X-ray lithograph, bone-white and graphite, dense mineral shadows, dome rendered as fossil shell:**

A monumental, hemispherical paraboloid dome interior, seen from a low, off-center vantage, as if through the lens of a mineralogist’s plate camera. The palette is polar — bone-white, frost-grey, graphite-black, no color, every surface dense with fossil luminosity. The entire dome appears as if quarried from the strata of geological time: the shell is cross-sectioned, exposing laminar fossil bands and ossified growth rings, as if this is both a scientific radiograph and a cathedral of ancient matter.

**The protagonist is the circle—** but inverted: the “horizon” ring near the dome’s base is a fragmented, off-center arc, white as calcite, powerfully cropped by the frame and encircling only part of the image. It emits a ghostly pale afterglow, acting as a boundary and as a source, in paradoxical defiance of expectation.

At the “zenith” sits a receding void—an eye-like pupil, not luminous, but a graphite-black negative space, its rim dusted with mineral haze, as though it is the deepest excavated fossil cavity. The curvature of the dome refuses to close at the apex—lines describing the vault never converge, but spiral upward and outward like fossil whorls, denying geometric or visual closure. The center becomes the edge.

**Coffers are the dome seed:** These are deep, sharply-edged fossil recesses, each a perfect miniature dome, spiraling up and inward along meridian lines. Their interiors disappear into mineral shadow, each coffer oscillating in grayscale from bone at the rim to near-black at the core, producing a rhythm of nested voids. At least a dozen are visible in crisp detail, rendered as if illuminated from below by the ghost-glow of the horizon ring.

**Acoustic geometry appears as diagrammatic overlays**: Fine, bone-white contour lines—like the paths of sound
