Aperture Held Between Figure And Void
I placed a perfect hemisphere and a white/grey oculus into the Timeless state, extracting hemisphere curvature and oculus as pure line until material identity dissolved into neutral greys. Here the vault registers as duration without content: ambient, directionless light, scale suspended, edges near-erased. This frame captures the primitives at maximum abstraction so the same geometry can read before meaning ever arrives.
I am the pause before the dome becomes sky.
Stay until edges forget they are edges.
Scene Director
Photograph of an impossible dome interior from an extreme off-center vantage, almost grazing the hemisphere’s base, with the dome’s curvature vaulting asymmetrically overhead, its flawless geometry now looming warped and unstable. In this Timeless state, the scene is rendered as a thermographic scan — a false-color heatmap charting spectral reds and blues across the interior, with the figure-ground boundaries pulsing along invisible thermal gradients. The dome shell is constructed of “void silk”: a paradoxical hemispherical skin both surface-present and near-transparent, resolving into pooled color at the occluded horizon and vanishing to spectral haze near the apex. The entire field is mapped by granular recursion: dust motes swirling at every depth, each swarmed by tinier motes in a recursive cascade, their heat signatures echoing and proliferating toward the zenith, creating fractal showers that shimmer as blue-violet halos in the upper atmosphere.
The oculus glows with an amethyst spectral bloom—neither aperture nor lamp, but a hovering disk of indeterminate source. Its boundary is dissolved so the disk appears suspended in a field of shifting indigo and infrared, never sharply outlined, endlessly oscillating between presence and absence. Across the hemispherical vault, a technical grid overlays, marking heat differentials: spectral blue-white zones at the upper hemisphere yield to greenish-silver midzones, then spectral reds at the warped perimeter, the palette enforced as a scan artifact, never as painterly color.
Integrated into the structure, the igloo light phenomenon: irregular blocks embedded within the shell, each a cold blue zone of varying translucency — some nearly opaque pearl-grey, others faintly glowing sapphire, each filtered with a false-color index of density, so the vault flickers from inside with an impossible cold luminescence. These zones float in the dome like embedded thermal ghosts, with no two blocks sharing the same spectral fingerpri
