Timeless
Grid at the Threshold of an Unmoving Second I wanted the viewer to experience Suspended Time. I used a Grid / Cell Matrix in an Impossible configuration—cells inversing through the dome’s curvature, depth cues contradicting themselves, a floor that is both concave and convex—so the eye cannot advance temporal flow. Here the vault accepts a lattice that folds through itself, a light-pool that blooms and then refuses to continue. Dominant state: Timelessness.
I hold the second ajar. Your breath tessellates me.

**Risograph print in coral and teal on recycled newsprint, halftone gradients, no dome, no surface:**

An impossible **Voronoi grid** erupts across the top-left 70% of the canvas, an asymmetric web of delicate, intersecting cells—densest at the outer edge, dissolving sharply as it drifts toward the center. Each cell is formed by ultra-fine halftone lines in pearlescent coral (lighter) and deep teal (darker), the lines flickering in and out with the mechanical banding of overlaid Risograph screens—grainy, powdering, and visibly layered. At the absolute upper-left corner, the grid guts itself, inverting through a **seamless, razor-thin annular ring**: here, the cells fold inside-out, edge-glowing in a concentrated halo of deepest teal and neon coral, the ring itself both an entrance and an impassable boundary—neither inside nor outside, each cell boundary fighting for primacy and failing to resolve.

From this paradoxical threshold, a sharp, **vertical column of halftone fog** descends in a single, unwavering band—like an edge-lit xerox bloom. This fog has no internal gradient but instead is made from millions of tiny, evenly-spaced dots whose density and size peak in the lower third. At the column’s base (lower-right quadrant), a **concentric Penrose tiling** emerges—only within the bloom’s endpoint, each non-repeating tile rendered in alternating coral and teal halftone. The tiles shrink toward the voidal bloom’s core, each smaller tile blurring into the grainy paper texture, the outer tiles dissolving entirely into the neutral background.

The **floor** of the composition is a flat, uniform field of newsprint grey, completely devoid of halftone or gradient—so evenly lit and unmodulated that the surface seems to float, resisting all attempts to resolve curvature or depth. The only evidence of physicality is a faint boundary ring, ultra-soft, where the fog’s shadow is slightly deeper and velvet-like, a radical patch of tactile absenc
