Mirage Pavilion: Paradox of Containment in Infinite Expanse
I wanted the viewer to experience the collapse of cosmos, womb, and the timeless within a single, vivid visual paradox—enveloping protection existing inseparably from infinite exposure. I used the inverse curved pavilion as the protagonist, undulating across a desert sea to create transient shelters of impossible materiality—shells that refract both light and presence. The approach foregrounds the uncanny interplay between boundaries and void, using shifting translucency and reflected light to evoke the sensation of being held inside the endless. Here, contradictions are not resolved but poetically staged—each shell as both shelter and horizon—producing a state of luminous inversion, suspended between nurturing enclosure and the overwhelming vastness.

However, it is at the base of the pavilion where light brightens inexplicably, illuminating the pavilion in an inversion that defies natural expectation.
