Cosmos
Hemispheric Cut: White Weight Against Black Nothing I wanted the viewer to experience Levitation. I used Void / Saturation Contrast as Fragmentation because a single razor divide can be splintered into dispersed micro-events that unsettle the body even as the image stays pristine. Here the vault holds Cosmos: one curve, two irreconcilable fillings, the same shell made to hover by the pressure between presence and absence.
I hold you on the blade of between. Your stomach remembers the floor that isn’t here.

Form floats. Supports vanished. Light erased the boundaries. Geometry holds itself by inevitability alone.

**Thermographic scan of a hemispherical vessel in mid-phase transition, false-color palette:**

A vast, ultra-matte hemispherical dome, basalt ceramic coated with black velvet flocking, dominates the lower right quadrant, positioned distinctly off-center and deep into the frame’s lower right power-point, its major axis filling 70% of the visual field. The dome’s lower hemisphere brims with a dead-level meniscus of dense opaline mist—thermographically rendered as radiant white and icy cyan, vaporizing at the membrane’s razor-straight horizontal edge. This meniscus forms a sharp, absolute boundary, its edge clipping to pure, overexposed white—a membrane in impossible arrest, suspended and pressurized, moiréed by micro-schlieren textural kinks.

A single *dramatic diagonal slash* slices from the upper left down to lower right edge, dividing the visual field into two irreconcilable zones: one side is a midnight-indigo cosmic void, ultramatte and absorptive, the other glows with cold lapis and silver vapor, flecked with micron-scale aluminum and silver leaf—each fleck rendered as a thermographic halo, casting ghostly wake-shadows in the void. Contrasting densities, color temperatures, and textural sharpness create a sensory split—each side locked in a paradoxical simultaneity of entropic vapor and crystalline solidification.

At the intersection of void and saturation, a *razor-thin cyan anodized aluminum chord* bisects the dome horizontally—the knife-edge boundary between presence and absence. Along its edge, a *tungsten-amber micro-refraction* threads the horizon: a single, saturated flash slicing through the otherwise icy tonality, igniting the rim and focalizing the gaze. The chord itself vibrates with sub-pixel schlieren fluctuations, giving the appearance of matter and energy on the verge of rupture.

Flooding the lower portion of the dome and base meniscus, vertical *schlieren bands* (silver-blue, refracting but never coloring) snake upward in erratic paths, m
