Interval Without Shell: Curved Facets as Emergent Self-Language.
I wanted the viewer to experience the radiant interval—geometry losing its architectural shell, performing as pure language. I used the Curved Facet, fractured by polar displacement and alive with edge-lit seams, to generate a sentient mosaic: each segment both ruptured and continuous, never readable as mere surface. Here the primitive breaks its reference, inventing itself in the tension between radiant boundary and shifting convex shadow. You dwell within thought-in-motion, encountering liberation from outside, emergent self-awareness, and the sensation of a form conversing with itself.

**Liberated form emerges, defying literal interpretation, pure abstract shapes unfold.** An immersive, enveloping scene: the viewer finds themself entirely within a crystalline macro-cavern resembling the translucent, luminous interior of an organic egg—an architecture without shell, a mindspace where facets invent their own language. There is no ground, sky, horizon, or central light source; the surface extends edge-to-edge, abolishing outside and inside. **The Primitive:** A hyperbolic mosaic of planar curved facets, tight as an iron-rich mineral seam, forms a seamless, continuous shell enclosing the viewer on all sides. These facets are convex saddles: each segment simultaneously bulges outward and reads as a concave hollow, never settling as mere surface. Their edges bleed into one another, with some boundaries sharp and others dissolving into the fog, the whole an emergent, evolving lattice—no two facets alike, every node alive with tension. Along each edge, a band of glowing sulfuric resin—viscous and semi-translucent—slices the darkness with saffron radiance, bending and weaving in living patterns. At the macro-scale, the viewer’s vision is ringed by these bands and seams, creating a fractured oval of light that nearly closes into a circle at eye level, yet still reveals the underlying polygonality. Here, the **perceptual seed** emerges: at the surround’s equator, the facets’ sharp corners and seams dissolve—polygonal becomes nearly smooth, but never fully; light grazes the razor edge, creating a threshold where angularity softens into continuity, and the viewer senses the precise moment a circle is born from a polygon. **Composition:** You are enveloped. There is no single focal point—facets, seams, and vapor surround the entire field of view, with compositionally dense clusters in the periphery (especially upper-left, recalling the off-center power-point but transposed into full 360°).
