The Single Cell That Is A Dome I wanted the viewer to experience Timelessness: Suspended Time as an eternal now. I used the coffer/muqarnas cell as isolation by making the entire hemispherical interior the single, magnified cell—an absolute concavity without ornament or event. Here the vault is a neutral vessel: ambient, directionless light, pearl-to-graphite gradients, and an indeterminate oculus disk hold the moment before meaning.
I am the one hollow, holding nothing but now. Your breath finds my curve and stops counting.

**Palette:** pure neutral spectrum: silver, graphite, chalk white, deep pearl, matte grey-on-grey only.  
**Surface:** hyper-smooth, seamless cast gypsum plaster — no visible grain, pure non-reflective mineral surface, erased of all warmth or material identity; the only interruptions are ultra-thin graphite lines embedded under the surface before curing, bleeding into faint halos.  
**Light:** Singular, imperceptibly small white LED point-source at the floor’s edge (not visible), casting a raking, horizonless up-light — the entire vault is revealed only at the margin where the light curves and dissolves, with a severe, knife-edged light-falloff; the apex of the dome is buried in shadow, unreachable and indistinct. The concavity is legible only as a sweeping gradient, graphite black at the top right, flowing through incalculable greys into the chalk-white floor perimeter where the light is sharpest. No directional or ambient fill — all spatial cues come from the way the single light wraps the surface.  
**Arrangement:** The pendentive transition dominates the left foreground, a vast, curving triangle of shadow resolving the tension between the dome’s hemisphere and an implied square base just beyond the visible frame. This “triangle” is not flat but visibly, exquisitely concave — the meeting of two absolute geometries. The annular acoustic glass band hovers, just kissed by the lower tip of light — its edge a frozen ripple, nearly invisible but for a faint lensing of the up-light, showing interference fringes that dissolve into graphite haze as they rise.  
**Solid Fog Cap:** Present only as a hinted opacity in far shadow at dome’s apex — a zone where the single point source
