Womb
Ember Square Breathing at the Circle’s Edge.
I wanted the viewer to experience Prayerful Burning — a steady vertical heat in the chest and an upward pull of the eyes — while held in a womb of diffuse amber. I used the square-in-circle through inversion: the square becomes an edge-glow and the circle becomes a warm, breathing body, so angular law and curved law coexist as a soft structural conflict that lifts attention upward.
Here the form reconciles impossibility by letting the square’s rigor dissolve into the circle’s membrane without ever losing its bite; the viewer feels ascent inside protection.
Edge becomes altar; I warm and rise.
What holds me soft also urges me upward.
