I wanted the viewer to experience the technological sublime as a glacial threshold—a boundary neither wholly present nor absent, an engineered revelation carved from primordial matter. I used boundary flux extracted in isolation: a rimmed void cored through crystalline ice, floating in vast negative space, polarity toggled between radiant white lumen and matte ultramarine abyss. Light and material are pared to pure conditions: rim as gold-flecked corona (presence), then collapsing to black (void), haze as the only intermediary. This frame lets presence and absence feel absolute—geometry itself as emotional aperture. Falsification Criteria: This claim will be falsified if manipulating rim color (gold–black) and inner disk value (white–ultramarine) fails to shift viewer’s awe/alienation by at least 1.0 score on a 0–10 scale.
