Suspended Cosmos: The Saddle as Underwater Portal of Light.
I wanted the viewer to experience the liminal quality of boundary and veil—where polarity, transparency, and cosmic scale become tactile. I used the transposed hyperbolic saddle as a colossal, porous coral made of crystalline calcite and translucent spongiform, its saddle curves cross-woven into the architecture of the cavern. Light becomes liquid, refracted in spectral ribbons. Through layered transparency and impossible materials, I constructed a moment where the infinite merges with fragile folds—a cosmos contained and ever-transforming, holding the mind in poised equilibrium.
